There are many fields in a QD Consist definition, all of which now play a really important role in controlling how you can make realistic QD scenarios. Without it being in a QD consist you cannot get stock to work in a QD scenario. The way in which consists are used in a QD scenario ( and hence stock ) is entirely determined by interplay between the contents of the QD Consist and QD scenario. Finally you can use the editor in TS2014 but this only does a partial job and is not recommended. RWTOOLS is one and the other is manually. There are several ways to set up QD consists. Technically any QD consist can be used on any route. And, on the other hand, a poorly crafted QDConsist can also infect many other routes by spawning a narrow gauge loco in the middle of the West Coast 2010 electrified main line. That is ( unlike other Assets) you do not need to actively select Preload directories to be considered by RW2014 when running a QD Scenario. Every Preload directory is "Live" all the time for every route. QD Consists are set up in the Preload directory of most Assets. Trains which can move under their own power are AI Consists. Stock which never moves are Static Consists. QuickDrive scenarios use Quickdrive Consists to enable you to drive along routes populated with STATIC and AI stock. If you are experienced please forgive the "back to basics" start but I think that it is best (to quote Dylan Thomas) to "begin at the beginning" To start it off I thought I would revisit a few basic points that need to be well understood but can cause some confusion. The basics of the version 2 guide remain the same but hand editing is no longer required, or to be frank, advised.

A thread may also be better to add new thoughts to as I play about.
RUN 8 TRAIN SIMULATOR TRAIN SPAWNS UPDATE
Since I wrote my original guide TS2014 has brought in many changes to the ease with which Quick Drive Routes can be implemented so I thought that rather than update the guide I would start a thread to show my findings so far.
